Slammed

Ever since the holidays last year, my freelance work has kind of died down a bit. I've gotten so used to having a lot more time to do things around the house, baking, cooking, etc.

For some reason, right after we got back from San Diego a couple of weeks ago, I've been totally slammed with work. My main client, who has been pretty quiet for the last few months, lines me up with a while bunch of stuff. In the span of 2 weeks, I've already recieved 4 site map illustrations, which one of them is a huge monstrocity and 4 brochures. I'm not complaining of the work, since I can always use the money. It always happens like this, when it rains...it totally pours.

For the past 2 weeks, I haven't had to time blog, do any housework, cook, etc. I will be doing a lot of back-posting once some time free's up. I've even hardly had time to eat too! I've been averaging about 12 hour days. After this whole rush is over...my body better have lost a few pounds...otherwise, I'm gonna have to go kick someone's ass!

I'm hanging out in Walt's office today since I didn't really feel like trolling around the mall. That kinda get's a little old. I like to shop, but there is only so much one can do there for a day. There's no internet connection for my laptop at the moment, so I shall be retroposting again once I get connected.

We had a great day at the zoo yesterday. Only Bai Yun and Gao Gao were on exhibit, while Mei Sheng was in the back exhibit going through his enrichment routine after he was weened. It's mating season for the pandas, so they were swapping Bai Yun and Gao Gao back and forth so that they can catch eachother's scent markings. There were a bunch of panda observers there to monitor the activities of the pandas. Since it was in the middle of the week and during the day, the crowds weren't bad at all. The pandas weren't really active today, but it was a great picture day.

I got my reading from Judee and it was pretty interesting. There are things that she totally pegged and some things I'm not too sure of their meaning. I guess I'll find out in due time.

We met Erin for dinner and we ate at PF Changs. We ordered our mandatory Lettuce Wraps as an appetizer. We then ordered the Singapore Street Noodles made with lo mein instead of the rice noodles, Orange Peel Chicken, and Mango Chicken. The food was excellent and had just the right amount of spiciness to it. For dessert, we ordered the "off menu" Flourless Chocolate Torte and the Banana Spring Rolls, which were to die for. I didn't get to take any pictures, but trust me...they all looked pretty awesome.

We just passed the Poway exit. Having this laptop really makes the trip go by a lot faster.

We're off to San Diego again. We've decided to take the Powerbook for it's first outing today. With a drive to San Diego easily being at least 4 hours, we wanted something that will kill the time while traveling.

The standard battery that comes with the Powerbook doesn't last that long. I would get about 2 hours max before it would put the laptop to sleep.

Well, last week, while we were at Costco, we found an inverter that you can plug into the cigarette lighter in the car and in turn, we can plug the power cord into the inverter. Too bad it doesn't come internet.

We are going down the I-15, about to cross the state border into California, and I'm blogging. Well, I'm writing my entry now, but will be retroposting it later when I get a chance to access a connection.

We're heading to the zoo the visit the pandas. Then afterwards, it's to meet Judee for my reading and then Erin for dinner.
