A little taste of home

I've had a really busy day today. I did some logo designs, web edits, and have been making soaps, lotions, and body sprays. I was basically on my feet all day until around 9:30 pm.

I got a surprise package today from my friend, Erika. She moved to Jacksonville, Florida 2 months ago. Since she's a Brooklynite like me, we used to talk about all the foods we missed from the East Coast. It took San Diego years to finally have a Sabrett cart. We can only find Polly-O and Boar's Head in only a couple of stores in town.

Ever since Walt & I moved out to Vegas, we did find that Smith's Foods carry Boar's Head cold cuts, thanks to a tidbit from a local client of mine that was originally from New Jersey.

But I digress...back to the box...

When I opened it, much to my delight, there were 7 big bags of assorted Wise chips! It's been ages since I've had some Wise chips. I've already given a bag of the barbecue flavor away and demolished half a bag of the regular. I'm going to save the onion garlic flavor, since that one is one of my favorites.

Blue Man Group

Nancy got Walt a pair of tickets for The Blue Man Group at the Luxor for his birthday. We went to the show last night and it was awesome. Afterwards, we headed over to the Hard Rock to meet up with a few friends in town.

Fashionable dogs

Craft Yarn Council of America has a calendar of doggie clothing patterns. I will attempt to make the August Dogkini's for Sasha and Boo Boo.

Kung Hei Fat Choi

It's Chinese New Year today. This year celebrates the "Year of the Rooster." Walt and I went to the Bellegio a few nights ago to check out their display. Next to the fountain show, this is another one of my favorite things about the Bellagio. We've been to the Christmas one and also the Fall Harvest one.

Dog Birthday Cake

It's Boo Boo's and Sasha's birthday today, so I decided to make them a birthday cake. I got the inspiration from ljc's Puppy Birthday Cake recipe.
